Lady Gaga plagued by microphone issues during Coachella performance

Lady Gaga battled through microphone issues during her second Coachella performance on Friday night.
Lady Gaga
The Bad Romance hitmaker began to experience technical problems with her headset microphone during the second song of her set - her most recent single Abracadabra.

The sound quality in the microphone dipped and she managed to temporarily fix it by holding the mouthpiece in place. However, it started to cut out - meaning fans couldn't hear some of the lyrics - and her voice became overtaken by the backing vocals.

Gaga was suspended high above the stage, sitting atop a tall cage structure designed to look like the skirt of a dress, meaning she had to push on with the faulty microphone until she was able to get down to her technical team.

The Poker Face singer later disappeared into the structure and reappeared at the bottom, this time with a replacement handheld microphone. She continued to use the clunky handheld version for the rest of Abracadabra and the next song Judas.

The pop superstar went off stage and returned for her track Scheiße with a new headset mic, but her sound problems didn't stop there. The audio wasn't clear, and Gaga had to hold it to her mouth.

Her technical issues were finally fixed when she went off stage again and returned with a new headset microphone for her song Garden of Eden.

According to The Sun, the 39-year-old addressed the malfunction towards the end of her set, telling the crowd, "I'm sorry my mic was broken for a second. At least you know I sing live. All I can do is give you my best and I am definitely giving you my best tonight."

Gaga's Coachella set also featured hits such as Born This Way, Shallow, Alejandro and Paparazzi.

Coachella continues this weekend in Indio, California, with headlining sets from Green Day, Travis Scott and Post Malone.
