Kylie Minogue and Cheryl Cole won two prizes each at the Glamour Women of the Year Awards last night (02.06.09).
Australian singer Kylie went home with the Entrepreneur of the Year accolade and the prestigious Woman of the Year gong from the ceremony held at London’s Berkeley Square Gardens.
Kylie, 41, was presented with her Woman of The Year award by Formula One racing driver Jenson Button, who is currently leading the championship.
Cheryl, 25, was named TV Personality of the Year for her work on British TV talent show 'The X Factor’, while she and her Girls Aloud bandmates - Sarah Harding, Nadine Coyle, Nicola Roberts and Kimberley Walsh – were honoured with the Best of the Year prize.
However, the five girls could not attend the awards show as they were performing in Liverpool.
'Merlin’ actress Michelle Ryan – who recently starred in the remake of hit series the 'Bionic Woman’ - was named the UK TV Actress of the Year, while Alexa Chung - who is dating Arctic Monkeys frontman Alex Turner - scooped the Presenter of the Year accolade.
Winners of the Glamour awards – which are now in their sixth year – are voted for by readers of the British magazine to celebrate the success of women in film, TV, music, theatre, business and literature.
